First Priority Greater Nashville

By |2017-08-31T16:27:35+00:00March 30th, 2014|Web|

Pastor Steve Cherrico of First Priority Greater Nashville came to me in March to build website.  Steve wanted to start fresh in Nashville with a clean site, yet make an impact with style and color.  Since the ministry is based around Nashville wanted to use the city, but focus on the people. The website opens with a full page slideshow of students and faculty with bright colors and a solid one-color logo.  This serves as a "splash" page with a strong first handshake. Another aspect of this design is essentially one page that slides dynamically to the different sections.  This is nice because it allows each section to have it's own personality.  Some sections will have a simple colored or textured background, while others will have a background image that moves in parallax.  For the most part this will be consistent.  As the site grows, we may move some sections like a store and the blog to back pages. SlowBurn Church – Website re-design

By |2017-08-31T16:27:35+00:00February 20th, 2014|Photo, Portfolio, Web|

Pastor Clint and Pastor Caleb of SlowBurn Church came to me in January to re-skin there website.  Since the church is based around Nashville I envisioned an image of the city to be the focus. Since I wanted this to be a surrounding element,  I decided to go with the walking bridge downtown. This would add a wide color palette without competing with the brand. SlowBurn is a very non-traditional church that is constantly raising the bar to reach people for the kingdom and spread God's love.  To reflect this in my design, I chose very progressive textures and colors.  This project can be viewed here: http://www.slowburnnashville.com/

MAPCO – Nashville Billboard Shoot

By |2017-08-31T16:27:35+00:00April 11th, 2013|Photography|

On Thursday, April 11, 2013 a team from MAPCO met with customers at Cumulus Broadcasting Studio in  Nashville, TN.  The goal was to put our own customers on the radio, local billboards and to build personal relationships with them.  My role on the team was to photograph our customers for billboards around Nashville. Due to the weather, we had to photograph our customers outside.  Our customers were shot inside with two studio lights and a flash bouncing off of the ceiling.  Various MAPCO related props were used, such as drinks, snacks, tickets and a gas pump.  We then took actual comments from their radio interview to place on the billboards. I had a soccer coach in high school that would say "The more you shoot, the more are likely to go in".  I have applied this concept to many areas of my life, including photography.  I took around 800 photos in a 3 hour period.  Out of this we selected 8 photos to place on billboards around Nashville.
